Even when you give long detailed instructions

And show the results as to WHY, there are always Mansplainers. 

With the upcoming Blue Supermoon Eclipse, I gave detailed instructions on how to use a freeware astronomy program called "Registax".  It didn't take long for the usual Mansplainers to tell me THEIR way was better, or using a single focus image isn't any good, or how I was just wrong, or it was nothing but HDR, yadda yadda yadda. Even when I posted an example.

Every time I patiently explained why, the same mansplainers would com up with a different reason I was wrong.  Then I tried "momsplaining".  Now, I just roll my eyes and ignore them.

One would think that showing this would stop their arguments and derision, but no. Now I just roll my eyes and ignore them.

I finally get Registax to work by reducing size of 10 images to 80%  (easy to 'embiggen' back to original size), as it's 32 bit so can only access 4gbs of the 32gb of ram I have installed.

Soooo, I get it working, get my footed monopod ready.. only to have clouds and rain.

Well, that was a fun weekend

 

Wing and I headed down to York, W.A. for a #CanonCollective Event, Astro-photography and some street photography. 

The weather didn’t play nice, and it was questionable whether or not we would have clear skies for shooting the Milkyway.  We ordered some food, and it took a long long time to arrive (kitchen was understaffed and overloaded at the same time. Bad combo) Some had already gone up to Mount Brown Lookout, but messaged back that it was cloudy and raining, so were returned to the hotel.

Our food arrived, we ate, and a group of use decided what the heck, go on up and give it a whirl.  We were elated to see we had clear skies. It only lasted less than an hour but it was enough!

Next morning, it started off bright and sunny… then devolved into rain.  We didn’t give up and managed to get some great indoor shots of local historical areas.

Maybe that 3rd battery pack for cordless weed trimmer was bad idea

Because I never know when to stop.

For the past few weeks, I have asked, repeatedly for assistance from the male bipeds.  First it was to clear some of the weeds that had grown back, and then just to remove twigs and branches so I could level everything with the weed trimmer.

*sigh* 

Drained all three of them cutting the grass/weeds on the side of the house, and some of it out front, too.  Hands hurt like hell from the vibrations. I got gloves with gel padding to absorb the vibrations, but someone forgot to tell the manufacturer that there is a difference in finger sizes from the middle finger down to the pinky finger, so they are of no use.

I now have clear areas to stand to take photos of Supermoon tonight.   Already have what gear I'm going to use set up and tested it last night, so I'm good to go
