Yeesh

I updated my tablet driver, as the Wacom Desktop Center instructed.  Rebooted and wow, color me so not surprised, Windows 10 no longer detected my tablet.  I did all the at home trouble shooting, uninstalling everything, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting.. nada, bupkiss.

Called Wacom help center, and a very nice young man named Jay, who was very grateful I could give him concise details on what I had done, we were able to figure it out. It seems the driver the WDC had was glitchy, and he had me download a new one. While it was downloading, I uninstall all things Wacom.  After the download, when through the inevitable cycle of reboot, install, reboot.

Plugged tablet in, and Tada! All I had to do was remap all my stylus/pens.

Since I have already done all the troubleshooting (different port, different cable, different computer, and even trying a different tablet) my Intuos Pro 5s' USB charge port needs to be replaced.
Hoping it will be less expensive than getting a new tablet!  Also, found out I can get a new drawing surface for my OLD Intuos 5.

Rather glad I kept the old Intuos 5

Even though it has scratches (compliments of Wing 's cat, Ziggy) I kept the old tablet when I replaced it.  A good thing, too, because for some bizarre reason, the new one, after almost a year of using, isn't charging up, nor is it recognized by Windows when plugged in via USB cable.

Yes, I've tried a different cable, port etc etc. No joy.

So, what I'm doing is charging up the old I5, and when the battery on the new one goes flat, swap it out, until I can figure out why the newer one has decided to not play nice.

Wacom tablet drivers and Windows

You would think after all these years, either company would have fixed the damned problem of Wacom drivers not loading on boot up, and a quick easy way to load the drivers when you get the dreaded "TABLET DRIVER NOT FOUND"  (yes, I have already done the Services/Local Services/Stopped and restarted Wacom drivers trick. It doesn't always work)

The Eagle Has Landed

shadoutcarver asked if I could make her a painting to be a gift for a friend who is former Naval personal, and a big Apollo buff, naming his first boat "The Eagle" for "The Eagle has landed!"

This started out as a composite JPG, from different photographs I had taken of WedgeTail Eagles, and the head of a Australian Fishing Eagle. Once I made the "Frankenstein" jpg, I used it as a reference. I put a soft blend over the entire bird to prevent 'cartooning'.

Tools used: Basic Oil, textured oil, sketcher pen, soft blender.
