McCain and Palins' hate mongering comments are coming back to bite them on the ass

'Hate' claim fires up John McCain in US presidential race

The legacy of Wallace, who survived an assassination attempt when running for president in 1972, was invoked by Georgia Democrat John Lewis, who said the "negative tone" of the McCain-Palin ticket was sowing the same seeds of hatred and division that defined the former Alabama governor's style.

"George Wallace never threw a bomb, never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans," said Mr Lewis.

"Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama. Senator McCain and Governor Palin are playing with fire, and if they are not careful that fire will consume us all."

I find this part below funny.

An outraged Senator McCain said the remarks were "beyond the pale" and demanded Senator Obama dissociate himself from them

Considering the people going on about KILL HIM KILL HIM and TERRORIST! about Obama, they have the gall to say their hate filled comments aren't causing this? Inflaming it? As for McCain demanding Obama distance himself from Lewis, bullshit. Using that same logic, he should be distancing himself from that twit Palin for the same friggin reasons.

Democrat spokesman Bill Burton repudiated the Wallace reference but said Mr Lewis, a veteran of civil rights struggles, had every right to speak out against the "hateful rhetoric" surfacing in the campaign and against McCain-Palin claims that Senator Obama was "palling around with terrorists".
