THE Vatican has issued its most explicit decree so far against the ordination of women priests, punishing them and the bishops who try to ordain them with automatic excommunication.

The Church said it cannot change the rules banning women from the priesthood because Christ chose only men as his apostles. Church law states that only a baptised male can be made a priest. Proponents of women's ordination say Christ was only acting according to the social norms of his time.

I love this reasoning, as it was the Catholic church that decreed that all the female followers of Christ were to be written out even though in the book of Luke, he clearly makes statements about female followers of Christ, and that 2000 yrs ago, women were little more than brood mares.

I see a lot of people telling this symbol of the fossilized religion called Catholicism to fuck off, and then 'migrating' over to Protestant, Methodist, Episcopalian etc.
