It appears the lazy S.O.B. (that doesn't mean Short of Breath, either) didn't bother to clean up what spilled from the blown batteries out of the case before putting the new ones in. I have used baking soda on the spillage. Here's hoping the lazy bastich's methods didn't screw up the new ones.
