Now that's a lot better

Russell from Hire-A-Hubby and his co-worker, Stubby, have finished up repairing the front of the house. The barge board has been replaced, and the rotted wood trim/decor has been replaced. He beat the weather by sealing and painting the wood last week, and then giving it its second coat after it was cut to fit. It looks really good. We lucked out, that we didn't have to replace the stucco board behind it all. If aikidomayland had pushed to put it off any longer, we would be looking at a HUGE bill, rather than the one we got.

What was fixed/replaced

As you can see, the wood was very badly rotted.

It's crumbled as Russell and Stubby took it down.

The rot warped the boards, allowing water and debris to build up behind the barge board.

Luckily, this dried out and cleaned up nicely.

Repaired, painted and finished.

Same repairs, different angle.

Did notice one of the down pipes from the gutters is rusting out, and also clogging all the time. Just one. Will be calling Russell in August for that to be fixed.
